CHOIR'S HAPPY SOUND RINGS OUT
A PERRY COMMON choir is hitting all the right notes with local residents.
The 'Ring of Sound' choir based at the Perry Common Estate is helping people of all ages to get together and enjoy themselves.
The choir has around 20 members and has already performed at a number of major events up and down the country.
Linda Hines, vice chair, said: "We are like a family and it's growing so much. It has had so many spin offs, people have gained confidence and gone out and done other things.
"We have sung at the national regeneration conference in Manchester, the International Convention Centre, in front of the Bishop of York and we have been asked to perform at the Arts Fest in Birmingham later this year."
During rehearsals every Wednesday night, the group sit in a circle and sing songs from all around the world in a range of languages. The choir pays for professional tutors to help them reach the right notes by accessing local funding.
