PERRY COMMON'S COMMUNITY SHOP -"OFFERING INDEPENDANT, IMPARTIAL AND CONFIDENTIAL ADVICE AND INFORMATION FOR ANY LOCAL RESIDENT"

A community survey carried out in 2001 prioritised the need for a “drop in facility” to give information and to direct and support residents with their various problems. It took some time to find a vacant property that was both structurally sound and located locally, but eventually the shop at 24/26 Kingfisher Road was officially opened by Dave Ellis (Birmingham City Council's District Director for Erdington) on August 2nd 2004.

Since then it has become a focal point for enquiries not only from local people but also the wider area, with numbers increasing each week. The shop moved at the end of 2006 inside the Community Centre - 87 Witton Lodge Road
